Over the years, our Clemmons, NC studio (near Winston-Salem, NC) grew beyond our expectations, reaching into the entire Triad region and beyond, but when we moved to Georgia in 2013, we bring our destination portrait photography to you.
You tell us the location…The opportunities are endless for finding the location that tells your story in portraits! I feel fortunate that I learned the craft of photography before the “digital revolution”…
My strong interest in photography began with learning the fundamentals of exposing film to light with a completely manual camera. Knowledge of proper exposure, the properties of various film types and darkroom techniques were essential to producing the best results on a consistent basis.
This background, along with the somewhat different flow and rhythm of digital photography, results in a well crafted portrait along with the creativity of the ever widening scope of newer techniques. The cycle of being a student, then teacher and back…
As my portrait photography business began to take off, I realized the value of joining professional organizations (PPNC, GPPA and PPA
) and the educational opportunities they offered.
Studying under the industry’s finest instructors, I soaked up all the the knowledge and inspiration that time and money would allow. This led me to a desire to give back to those organizations.
So, I began teaching and mentoring on photographic techniques, customer service, systems and building relationships for a successful studio. We are currently offering classes and workshops through the University of North Georgia
(Cumming Ga campus.)
Teaching and encouraging those who are eager to learn is a fantastic experience, but I never want to lose the excitement and anticipation of gaining new insights and knowledge–so the cycle of learning, growing, sharing, teaching and back to fresh inspiration is complete.
